VOLCANO APARTMENTS

Volcano Apartments is located at the horse ranch, Forsæti and offers two family-friendly apartments for travellers. The ranch is ideally located in South Iceland with many of the region’s major natural attractions within short driving distance. Both of the apartments offer great views in all directions, including towards Vestmannaeyjar, Eyjafjallajökull volcano and Hekla volcano.

Due to its stunning surroundings and ideal location, Volcano Apartments is a great accommodation if you are looking to hunt for the Northern Lights during winter and enjoy the beautiful midnight sun during summer.

About us

Volcano Apartments is a run by a local family, Sæunn and Guðjón. We bought Forsæti farm in 2016, rebuilt the house and made 3 family-friendly apartments. The first guests arrived in July 2016. Our main goal is to provide our guests with a comfortable place to stay while they travel to South Iceland and explore the many natural wonders that can be found around us. We hope that our apartments will feel like a home away from home for our guests.

We also run a small adventure tour company called Katlatrack as nature, especially the nature surrounding our farm is our passion and we love to spend some time off road or in the highlands. We know the surrounding areas like the back of our hand and we are always happy to advise and recommend sights and attractions in the surrounding areas.

The apartments

Hekla Apartment

Hekla Apartment is a two-bedroom apartment and can accommodate four persons. It is 45 square meters, private, quiet and a wonderful place to relax.

The apartment is split into 2 bedrooms, a spacious and open living room/kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.

Features

The first bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second bedroom features a bunk bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, oven/microwave, coffeemaker, kettle and a toaster.
Bed linens, towels and toiletries are included.
Other features include private entrance, radio, hairdryer, terrace, heating, clothes rack, desk and heating.

Katla Apartment

Katla apartment is 50 square meters and can accommodate five persons. The apartment is private and quiet, a wonderful place to relax.

The apartment features 2 bedrooms, a spacious and open living room/kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.

The master bedroom has one queen-sized bed and one single bed.
The second bedroom features a queen-sized bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, oven/microwave, coffeemaker, kettle and a toaster.
This apartment features a TV.
Bed linens, towels and toiletries are included.

Nice quiet apartment with a fantastic view

Great location, very quiet and a lot of outdoor space. The apartment was recent and fresh with nice finishing touches. The rooms were fine and spacious enough. The views on Eyjafjallajökull and Vestmannaeyjar were fantastic. The hosts were friendly and helpful, gave us a few tips on things to do based on our needs. We also got by email a great list of things to see and were to do grocery shopping or dine out, which was helpful in planning our trip and decide what to do in the area.

Exceptional

It felt like being at home away from home. The apartment has literally all that we needed, was warm, super clean, quiet, comfortable and is located ideally for someone who is interested in seeing the island’s treasures.

Amazing location in southern Iceland!

Amazing location in southern Iceland! The views were incredible and next to a horse farm. Very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and bath. Easy day trips to Golden Circle, Glacier Lagoon, Westman Islands – Highly recommend!!

Excellent apartment in a great location to explore South Iceland

An excellent apartment in a great location to explore South Iceland. Really reasonable price compared to other accommodation options locally. Clean, spacious for 4 people and with good facilities and fast wifi. A 10-minute drive to the nearest town, Hvolsvullar, where there are several restaurants, supermarkets and petrol stations. A 15/20 minute drive east to Seljalandsfoss and an hour to Vik.

Volcano Apartments is located near the small town of Hvolsvöllur in South Iceland. It is ideally located on the South Coast with many of the regions most popular and stunning natural attractions. The apartments are easy to find near the main road, Ring Road nr.1.
